Bluefloat Energy is looking for a Junior Engineer, who is passionate about offshore wind technologies and enjoys the unique challenges of growing business in an emerging industry. With a corporate vision of accelerating the global deployment of offshore wind as a key enabler for the energy transition and economic growth, BlueFloat Energy is developing offshore wind energy projects in multiple geographies.

You will join a dynamic and highly motivated team of energy professionals who have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in executing floating offshore wind projects.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor the execution of the meteorological campaigns.
  • Statistical analysis and processing of wind and oceanic data.
  • Prepare site conditions reports and Metocean desktop studies.
  • Conduct pre-feasibility and site screening studies.
  • Estimate project capacity and optimize wind farm layout according to Company’s objectives.
  • Support the wind turbine and floater selection activities.
  • Conduct energy yield assessment estimates.
  • Conduct weather modelling studies for estimating the accessibility and availability of the wind farm.
  • Participate in energy assessment due diligences and monitor the work done by the Company’s advisor during any relevant process, such as the participation in energy auctions or the financial close of the projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate works with technical contractors who are supporting our wind and site assessment activities in different markets.
  • Write reports, applications, memos, etc. with different degrees on technical content required in our project development activities.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
  • Experience with offshore wind (especially floating wind) will be viewed favorably.
  • Experience with floating LiDAR campaign will be viewed favorably.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Degree or Master´s degree in a relevant engineering discipline: STEM+F (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of electricity generation and renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with offshore wind technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Familiarity with design programs and database systems are advantages.
  • Exceptional written communications and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate skills with Matlab or Python.
  • Intermediate skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Proactive and autonomous.
  • Systematic and detail-oriented approach to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • High level of agility, eager to develop new skills and areas of expertise.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Languages: Fluent in English required (BlueFloat Energy’s working language); Fluency in Spanish is desired, other languages a plus (namely in markets where we are present).
  • Status to work in the European Union.
  • Willingness to travel abroad to support responsibilities.
  • Ability to work across cultures and in different geographies.
